The concept and inspiration for VHI came from the development team that conceptualised the 3 largest Membership based travel clubs in the Southern Hemisphere. Together they envisioned combining the power of the travel industry with the convenience of the internet.

After 2 years of research into the dynamics of the South African online travel market. Together with a team of specialists in the trade, they developed "the concept", which is currently being referred to as the travel club phenomenon. This was launched in 2008 and was sold successfully across South Africa by various top Marketing and Sales Companies. To date over 40 000 Members are making use of the program since 2008.
